Disinfection Testing for Devices with integrated Ultraviolet (UVC) and Photoplasma

In December, 2020, one of our our manufacturing partners released the results of independent testing confirming that the technology is effective against SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19.

The line of residential, commercial, and healthcare products were independently tested for effectiveness against SARS-CoV-2 by a third-party lab. In the test report, the systems repeatedly delivered greater than 5-log inactivation (>99.999%) of the SARS-CoV-2 virus in less than one second of exposure to the disinfection systems.

The testing was conducted by BCS Laboratories, an ISO/IEC 17025 certified Florida, USA-based lab which is also accredited by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), US Department of Agriculture (USDA), and Florida Department of Health. The test was designed to model exposure time comparative to inactivating the SARS-CoV-2 virus in the moving airstream within HVAC systems. As a leading manufacturer in HVAC UV light solutions for the disinfection of air and surfaces, the company has provided the technology for use by thousands of people around the world for safe disinfection of homes, restrooms, transport, and businesses.

This study joins others, including those published in the Journal of Clinical Virology, that demonstrate that the advanced ultraviolet disinfection systems are effective at inactivating viruses and other infectious diseases.

These accredited test results are the latest in a long line of groundbreaking and independently verified test programs that have been undertaken to date by this manufacturer of ultraviolet disinfection systems that has been at the forefront of UV technology for decades.

Disinfection Testing for Devices with Needlepoint Bipolar Ionization

In June, 2020 one of our manufacturing partners released the results of independent testing confirming that the technology is effective against SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19.

The line of products generates 99.4% reduction rate on a SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) surface strain within 30 minutes, the first instance in which an air purification company has effectively neutralized SARS-CoV-2 in this manner. The laboratory study was designed to mimic ionization conditions like that of a commercial aircraft’s fuselage. Based on viral titrations, it was determined that at 10 minutes, 84.2% of the virus was inactivated. At 15 minutes, 92.6% of the virus was inactivated, and at 30 minutes, 99.4% of the virus was inactivated.

The testing results were achieved through a proprietary form of needlepoint bipolar ionization technology. For any kind of facility from commercial buildings to aircrafts, delivering the cleanest, safest indoor air environment will only become increasingly more important, and ozone-free technology is one of the most sophisticated products on the market. Bipolar ionization works to safely clean indoor air, leveraging an electronic charge to create a high concentration of positive and negative ions. These ions travel through the air continuously seeking out and attaching to particles. This sets in motion a continuous pattern of particle combination. As these particles become larger, they are eliminated from the air more rapidly. Additionally, positive and negative ions have microbicidal effects on pathogens, ultimately reducing the infectivity of the virus. This specific bipolar ionization is ozone-free and the only kind in its category to pass the RCTA DO-160 standard for aircraft. Traditional bipolar ionization systems produce harmful ozone as a byproduct.
